Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Pratt MBE has heard how Lancashire Victim Services (LVS) provide a lifeline to victims who find themselves in need of support following any type of crime.
The service, commissioned by Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden provided an update as part of their regular performance review meeting with Mr Pratt, highlighting the support they offer and how it impacts people who have fallen victim to crime.
Over the past quarter the service received over 10,000 referrals with expert staff ready to help following any type of crime and specialist teams on hand to offer dedicated support for victims of sexual violence, domestic abuse, and young victims under the age of 18.
Deputy PCC Andy Pratt said: “I am always impressed by the passion and dedication the LVS team show to give the best possible support to victims of crime.
“While we work really hard to tackle and prevent crime in Lancashire in the first place, it is so important that people who do fall victim to criminals can access the support they need in a way that suits them best.
“I am confident that the LVS team do their utmost to help anyone in need and I would encourage anyone who needs emotional support or practical help following a crime to contact the service.”
Claire Powell, Area Manager for Lancashire Victim Services, added: “Our teams take great pride in the work they do and while it is often challenging, it is equally rewarding when clients tell us how our support has helped them through some of the most difficult times of their lives.
“We are here for anyone who needs us, and we always work with people in a way and at a pace that suits them best to move forward from whatever has happened to them.
“My message to anyone in Lancashire who needs support following a crime is simple, please contact us, we are here to help.”
